usf should maintain their club team, but also field an ncaa team in the CHA.
they could play in the forum until usf built a rink, which they have plenty of space for and
would pay for itself. most ncaa rinks only have a few thousand seats so usf's wouldn't need to cost a lot to build and they could have public skating and rent ice to local leagues and teams. it would probably instantly become one of the most popular facilities on campus for students. money maker for the school and brings college hockey for spectators who actually want to sit a real arena to watch a game. is there even a downside to it?

maybe if uf, ucf, fsu, georgia or a few other big schools wanted to field teams, alabama-huntsville could switch over from CHA to join a new ncaa division 1 "southern collegiate hockey conference"
