The Ice Bulls are committed not only to being a nationally competitive hockey team, but also to contributing to our community.

Despite the long hours spent on the ice, traveling, at work, in class and socializing, Ice Bulls players still take time to make an impact in their community. They have logged over 700 hours of community service over the past year. In addition to helping out with local youth hockey programs, the Ice Bulls have worked with the following organizations:

Last season, the Ice Bulls became involved with Madison Goss. Madison is a three-year-old little girl in Atlanta, GA suffering from a rare form of cancer. She recently underwent a liver transplant. The cost of her treatment placed a significant financial burden on her family and a medical trust fund was set up to help defray the cost. The Ice Bulls raised over $2500 for her trust and presented a check to her family when they were in Atlanta last season for the regional tournament. Team members also visited the pediatric cancer ward and visited with patients at the Children’s Hospital Scottish Rite in Atlanta.

Having experienced first hand the agony that cancer inflicts on children and their families, the Ice Bulls have committed to do more during the 2007-2008 season. The team will host the first annual Maddi Goss tournament in January. All proceeds from the tournament and associated fund raising efforts will be donated to charities relating to pediatric cancer.

The Ice Bulls are proud of their contributions to the community. If you are part of an organization and you would like to involve the Ice Bulls in your efforts, contact Colleen Hennessy at: USFicebulls@aol.com
